How to Create a Relaxing Spa Experience at Home

spa and relaxation

The spa is a great escape from the everyday stresses of life. With treatments such as facials, massage therapy, hydrotherapy, pedicures and manicures, body wraps, yoga, meditation and more, the spa is a great place to relax and recharge. Many of us are able to take advantage of these amazing facilities and enjoy an afternoon (or even weekend) at one of these bliss-inducing retreats. But what if you could have your own personal spa right at home? With a few easy tips, you can create a relaxing spa experience that will help to ease your mind and body.

1. TURN OFF ALL THE TECH.

When you are in your spa, turn off all of the electronics and set aside time to just sit and relax. The distractions of your phones, emails and other devices can really detract from your spa experience. Instead, bring along a book and read, play some soothing music and let the warm water soothe your mind, body and soul.

2. BREATHE.

Deep breathing can reduce your blood pressure and help to release stress. Try breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth to lower your stress levels and feel more relaxed. This simple act of calming your breath is a great way to start your day at the spa and to practice relaxation throughout the rest of the day. You can also try drinking a cup of lavender or chamomile tea which have been known to promote relaxation and calmness.
