The city that never sleeps can sometimes leave your body feeling sore and exhausted. That’s why New York’s spas are so important, offering everything from massages and facials to the latest in medi-spa treatments and cosmetic injectables. Whether you want to relax after a long day of sightseeing and shopping or if making self-care a priority is one of your goals this year, these five hot spots can help you recharge and get back on track.

In the Flatiron district, Rescue Spa offers a modern urban retreat with a selection of specialized services including high tech facials, massage and bodywork and manicures & pedicures. The salon also has an extensive menu of cosmetic services like brows and lashes. In addition, the spa partners with Parisien skincare brand Biologique Recherche for all of its treatments.

AIRE Ancient Baths are internationally renowned for their relaxing experiences and the NYC location is no exception. Located in the heart of Midtown, this minimalist three-level spa is a refuge from the hustle and bustle of the big city. Its 20-meter indoor pool, daybeds and fire pits are designed to offer a truly luxurious experience.

QC NY is the first U.S. location of a European-based chain that is dotted across the Italian Alps. Located on Governors Island, the spa is easy to reach via a quick ferry ride from Manhattan. Content strategist Clare Palo describes stepping into the space as “like visiting a grand country estate.” Her favorite service: the Multipart Onsen Ritual, which pairs massages with bathing traditions of ancient Greece, Rome and the Ottomans. The experience includes a mineral-salt soak, massage and mud mask, plus a thermal bath that will ensure every last ounce of tension is removed from your body and soul.
