The Best Spa in Town

best spa in town

New York is known for many things: busy streets crowded with yellow taxis; postcard-worthy places to buy overpriced souvenirs; and, thankfully, some truly fantastic spas! From rooftop havens oozing classiness with breath-taking city views to zen palaces armed with waterfalls hugging your feet and fuzzy rugs to sit on, there’s an option for everyone.

One of our favourites is QC Spa in Chelsea, a 25,000-square-foot space that’s the first US location of the Italian spa chain (the other ten are mostly dotted across the Alps). The massive, multilevel indoor experience feels “like visiting a grand house,” says content strategist Clare Palo and astrologer Alice Bell. You can choose from a range of treatments including targeted massages and rituals such as a jet lag treatment, and post-treatment you have access to the spa’s thermal experiences like heated pools and saunas.

If you’re looking for a more boutique-feeling experience, try City Well in Gowanus, Brooklyn. The small-feeling spot has a more intimate feel to it and is accessible by appointment only. Guests get access to their backyard spa which includes a river rock sauna, a hydrotherapy pool and an eucalyptus steam room as part of the experience.

Another fave is Natura Spa, a salon-spa where you’re guaranteed to leave feeling and looking your best. They’re big on customer service and by the end of your visit you’ll be on first name terms with your therapist. Their renowned facials are something to rave about too, with expert therapists who can diagnose your skin issues in just one glance.
