NYC’s Best Spas

best spa in town

We know the city that never sleeps can be a bit much sometimes, but even in a place as buzzing and vibrant as New York there’s always time to slow down. Whether it’s to decompress, soothe an aching muscle or reenergize for the next day’s adventures, NYC’s best spas offer a range of treatments and experiences that are sure to leave you feeling like a brand-new person.

Indulge in an embarrassment of riches at this luxe Korean-style spa that’s the size of Disneyland (and offers plenty of fun rides and activities). Before your treatment, snag some fruit and snacks in the plush waiting room, then meet with your specialist to discuss what you’re looking for. Options include facials, body scrubs, massages and acupressure, as well as a full beauty menu including hair removal, waxing and manicures.

Tucked inside the Equinox Hotel in Hudson Hards, this serene spot offers a wide array of wellness and spa services including personalized massages that focus on recovery and body alignment ($245), lymphatic drainage facials, cold therapy treatments, and more. And for those who want to hang out a little longer, the Water Lounge—with its massive indoor waterfall, hot tub, and plunge pool—is open for all to enjoy before or after their treatment.

Framed with wood from a 250-year-old Japanese farmhouse, this spa—the only one in the US to use a traditional onsen water system—offers guests a near-silent setting and an array of relaxing and rejuvenating massages, body treatments and facials. Creative director and founder of Oscar de la Renta and Monse Laura Kim says her favorite treatment is one of the multipart Onsen Rituals, which starts with a mineral-salt bath followed by a body scrub and massage.
