New York’s Best Spas

Best spa

New York may be the city that never sleeps but some of the best spas here know how to shut down the noise for a day (or longer) and get you feeling totally rejuvenated. From ancient baths to eucalyptus footbaths, these havens in the middle of the bustling metropolis offer respite from the buzz of the Big Apple with treatments, pools and ambiance that’ll put you in a total chillout zone.

A day of wellness is on the cards at this Queens spa that fuses Asian and European influences. The massive facility — which opened at the beginning of March — sits on Governor’s Island and offers breathtaking views of the city skyline. Guests have access to the entire spa which includes multiple sauna rooms, steam showers and relaxation lounges as well as eucalyptus footbaths, heated pools with underwater massaging hydro seats and more. “The whole space feels like a grand house,” says content strategist Clare Palo. And astrologer Alice Bell agrees that the place is just “so soothing and welcoming,” adding that it has an almost magical aura to it.

Located directly across the street from one of NYC’s busiest libraries, this A-list spa is a sanctuary within the city that never sleeps. Start with a facial or body treatment and don’t forget to try the ‘Shirodhara’ massage where warm herbal oil is drizzled over your third eye for an ultra-calming Ayurvedic experience.
